Will the NSW Labor Government start telling the truth about Cronulla or do we want civil war on the streets of Sydney?
The people of The Shire have been seething since Carl Scully first described the mostly peaceful gathering at Cronulla beach as "drunken yobbos".
The day was a protest against years of violent racial attacks in the Shire and the rest of Sydney on Australians by people of middle eastern descent, attacks the NSW Labor Government has mostly ignored. ,
The Report mentions 270,000 text messaages sent round before the day. What about the messages that were scrawled on the road near Punchbowl Park the evening of the next day when the middle eastern revenge groups were assembling (SMH 14/1/06) ?:

For the uninformed, AKs are AK 47 machine guns and Glocks are Glock pistols.
The revenge attacks, or should we say the "pogrom", by people of middle-eastern descent the next evening armed with guns, knives, iron bars and baseball bats, which was allowed to proceed on its way by the police because they were incapable of stopping it, was only a further demonstration of the NSW Labor Government's inability to deal with middle eastern gangs.

According to the Daily Telegraph of September 13th, 4000 Lebanese Australian Citizens have come back to Australia because of the recent war with Israel.
Many have been away for years.
One Nation wants to know what security checks these people underwent before they were allowed back in.
We can answer our own question and say "none".
An Australian passport is a free ticket to get back into the country, but in the times we live in it should not be taken as a security pass.
If they have been away for so long it stands to reason some could have become Hezbollah supporters or sympathisers or could have even fought with Hezbollah.
What better cover for a terrorist here than to be totally legal and to have all the rights of an Australian Citizen?
The State Government has been lambasted for giving these people a fast track to welfare, as was also exposed in the Telegraph, but the Federal Government also stands condemned for their laxness in enforcing border protection.

One Nation Says No To Free Trade in Blood Products
Under the US Free Trade Agreement, the Commonwealth Government is obliged to recommend to the States and Territories that Commonwealth Serum Laboratories should face competition from overseas companies for blood plasma processing, "fractionation", when its contract ends in 2009.
This means that because of the ridiculous doctrine of "free" trade, besides cars, food, manufactures, garments and everything else we now import, though we are quite capable of making it here, we will have to import blood products processed in, or even sourced from - who knows where?
According to ABC Radio's PM program of 14th July the Medical Journal of Australia has published research saying this could lead to a greater risk of contamination.
In Australia we have rigorous screening of donors, and they give their blood voluntarily. Having blood products sent overseas for processing could mean they get contaminated with plasma from donors who have been paid to give it and were less rigorously tested.
We all know unilateral free trade is economic insanity, but who would have thought our Government would even consider extending it to the most basic unit of life?
How would you feel lying on a operating table, about to be anaesthetised and cut open, and knowing you were going to be given blood products that were processed on the other side of the world because it was cheaper?
It is to be hoped that media exposure will put an end to this lunacy.

Had the Balance of Power in the Senate
One Nation would have passed the Government's Immigration Law Changes if it held the balance of power in the Senate.
The Coalition MPs who crossed the floor, or threatened to, snubbed the voters who elected them, something One Nation Members of Parliament would never do.
We all know part of the reason for these changes is to appease Indonesia, a country potentially hostile to Australia, but anything that makes our vulnerable borders more secure and deters illegal immigrants has got to be supported.
As Pauline Hanson said in her maiden speech on September 10th 1996 "if I can invite who I want into my home, then I should have the right to have a say in who comes into my country".
It is to be hoped the coalition consider this when they decide who they give their preferences to at the next election

One Nation Stirs Up the Issues
The spirited question time that followed each speaker at the One Nation forum held in Griffith on Saturday 15th July was proof of the interest generated among the local people who attended. They were keen to find out where their country is going and wanted some answers on current issues which they haven't been getting from the other political parties.
Local businessman John Ward urged farmers and other businesses to unite to help each other, starting by "buying local" and "supporting local" and to combine to fight the centralised buying power of Coles and Woolworths.
Jeanine McCrae, former sheep farmer, now campaigner against the injustices meted out to farmers by the banks and governments, demonstrated the family and individual and farmers' rights are being subordinated to the power of corporations and the state. The concentration of more power in the hands of the Federal Government at the expense of the State Governments and selling our water supply to multinational companies are all part of this. She said Governments and banks want to keep us in debt because they know people in debt work harder.
She also touched on the "UN Rights of the Child" and demonstrated how parents are losing the right to rear their children according to Christian principles because ungodly humanism and globalism were the new "religions" of the UN and the Fabians in the Labor Party.
Narrabri Councillor and former Narrabri Mayor Bevan O'Regan told farmers to fight the treasonous efforts by the Government to take away their water rights as the right to own the water on your land goes with the Fee Simple
Title and is just as much a basic right as the right to the vegetation, the soil and the air above.
One Nation (NSW Division) Policy Co-ordinator Andrew Webber gave an comprehensive outline of all One Nation policy areas and demonstrated there is not a facet of current issues where One Nation does not have an answer.
Professor Drew Fraser, formerly of Macquarie University, who has already spoken at many One Nation branch meetings in Sydney, said we are being ruled now by an elite in government, the public service, media, business and academia who have no identity with the traditions and heritage of the Australian people. He said Western Europeans have a fatal altruistic flaw in their character being the only race on the face of the earth so ready to sign away their sovreignty and their country and their destiny to any foreigners who walk onto their shores.
The forum received good coverage in the local press who also attended on the day and did a "vox pop" of why people had come to the forum.
General impression was the people of Griffith will be glad to have someone other than National, Liberal or Labor to vote for at the State and Federal elections next year.

Enoggera Task Force Wind Up Shows NSW Police & Government Are Afraid
The winding up of the Enoggera task force is typical of the attitude of the NSW Police & NSW Government to middle eastern criminals in NSW.

After six months investigating the so-called "Cronulla riots" and the revenge attacks afterwards, while dozens of "anglos" have been charged (many after voluntarily surrendering themselves to police) virtually none of the middle-eastern urban terrorists who staged the revenge attacks afterwards have been touched. and "This Sunday we will all meet at Brighton and together exterminate the enemy at Cronulla" before rampaging through Maroubra and Cronulla stabbing, bashing and looting.
The people of NSW can draw their own conclusions.
Though, with such a high level of illegal gun and knife ownership among the middle eastern community you can't blame the police. Who wants to getstabbed or shot?
Then there is their other weapon, the mobile phone. If police pull over a carload of middle eastern youths sure as eggs they'll get on their mobiles and in three minutes the police will have ten carloads to deal with.
It has reached the stage that people who are victims of property crime perpetrated by middle eastern people are often advised by the police not take it any further or they might risk retaliation.
The people of NSW want to know: will Morris Iemma's Middle Eastern Crime Unit bring peace to our streets, or will Offenbach's famous "Gendarmes' Duet" apply to our NSW Police Force:

Public Library Refuses to Stock Anti-Globalization Book
This letter was sent by a One Nation member to a local paper on 12th June 2006.
"Late last year I visited the Great Lakes Library, Forster with the intention to donate two books I felt to be of interest to the public.
The abridged "22 Steps to Global Tyranny" by Graham Strachan, ISBN 0-646-37459-1, is a small book suitable for research and discussion, based on Graham Strachan's more in depth book "Globalisation", ISBN 0-6456-36113-9. Graham Strachan has written a number of books, is a barrister and holds a Batchelor of Science Degree as well as Law. He has no political association but is a political researcher. As Globalisation is a media topic and is also discussed in senior school curriculum, I thought the shortened "22 Steps" to be of public interest.
The second book "Deadly Deception at Port Arthur" by Joe Vialls, ISBN 0-646-38174-1, another informative and non political book by Joe Vialls, an experienced researcher and former British Service Officer, now deceased, would also be of interest for public reading.
My offer to "donate" was refused by the Library Services Manager, the reason given I quote as follows "The authenticity of the information contained in both publications is open to debate (authenticity is one of the library's key selection criteria and is embedded in the Library's Collection Development Strategy). The fact that no other public library in NSW appears to hold copies of these titles would indicate that other libraries share a similar opinion. There is an additional concern that the books may be associated with political parties. This is particularly the case with Graham Strachan's book, which has been endorsed by ....... One Nation ...... The Library does not knowingly hold material that could be viewed as strongly supportive of the opinions of a political party."
Please now allow me to make a few comments from the other side of the fence. By what authority has anyone to decide what the public can or cannot read?
Surely the public should be able to read and decide for themselves the authenticity of a publication carrying International Standard Book Numbers for library usage.
If these books appear to be controversial, please note many biographies and autobiographies and much research material is subject to controversy, discussion and aimed to be thought provoking. The Latham Diaries, for instance, a fine example.
Finally, I quote Martin Luther King "Our lives begin to end, the day we become silent about the things that matter".
The reading public should be given the opportunity to decide for themselves!"

Qantas.
The Greens can't crow about opposing it - they voted for corporatisation in the first place, and if they had been around when the Snowy System was planned they would have declared that each dam was on a sacred site and the tunnels
would disturb the habitat of the last remaining example of the endangered yellow-backed climbing tree frog, so the scheme would never have happened.
As for The Nationals, they have been selling out The Bush out for years. Which brings us to the conclusion that only One Nation, that opposes on principle ALL sell off of public utilities and opposed the Snowy Hydro sale from the start, can say with honesty "vote for us or you'll end up with NO NATION".

Australian soldiers in East Timor are disarming the gangs, confiscating their knives and guns and dispersing violent mobs with tear gas.

Why aren't our police doing that with the gangs here?
There are more guns and knives on the streets of Sydney then there are in Dili, but here our NSW Labor Government and NSW Police stay in a constant state of denial, despite the fact that it is commonplace now for young criminals to
spontaneously produce a knife or gun when involved in a fracas or confrontation, as if they carry them at a matter of course.
It is obvious the tough medicine the Australian Army is dispensing in Dili is working, and that they command respect. The reason is that they have been given a mandate to use whatever force is necessary.
Contrast this to our politically correct Police in NSW, where the trash we have on our streets can harass, intimidate, rob, bash, shoot and stab as they please, because they fear no reprisal.

ABC Lateline Expose Shows Stolen Generation Was Really the Saved

The expose on ABC Lateline Monday May 15th, on the depredation of Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory, illustrated the hypocrisy that has surrounded the Australian indigenous question for the last 40 years.
The so-called stolen generation were in reality children who were taken away from conditions like those portrayed in Lateline and brought up in white communities for their own protection.
If children are taken now out of these communities to remove them from danger will they be labelled another "stolen generation"?
Four decades of Native Title, ATSIC, land rights, tent embassies, do-gooders, bleeding hearts, allowances for "cultural sensitivity", Black Deaths in Custody inquiries and billions of taxpayers' dollars thrown into the black hole of
the aboriginal racket have done nothing to assuage the child-rape, wife bashing, murder, drug addiction, alcoholism and petrol sniffing that have become the curse of such remote aboriginal settlements. In fact all these pantomimes have achieved is to allow the situation to get worse.
Since the expose three days ago, you will notice, in typical Australian political fashion, nothing has occurred except political point-scoring, name-calling and a demarcation dispute between the Northern Territory Government, Northern Territory Police and the Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs.
Nothing of benefit will, in fact, occur as long as the law is not enforced equally for all, wherever and whenever it is broken, and as long as political grandstanding takes the place of the true civic service our parliamentarians were elected to perform.

The Government's recent crackdown on illegal immigrants, declaring they will be processed offshore if they arrive by boat and then transferred to a third country, shows how responsive they are to the wishes of the people - the

The Government only brought in these changes because they are scared of the hostile regime to our North who vociferously objected to the granting of refugee status to the 42 West Papuans.
For decades most Australians have been dissatisfied with how easy it is to enter Australia illegally, but successive governments have thumbed their noses at these fears, except for the Tampa incident when the Government "went through the motions" of getting tough in order to win an election.
Winning elections and obeying the will of the nations to our near north seem to be the main motivation of both the Coalition and Labor in framing border protection policy.
How about our Government doing something that the Australian people want for a change?

It's going that way with the recent industrial relations changes.
Under the so-called reforms, that are not reforms at all, kids are being asked to work for junk food companies on such low wages it wouldn't pay for the shoe leather they wear out running up and down behind the counter.
Of course, if they don't like it, employers can always bring in contract labour from overseas who won't know any better and won't complain.
And don't think you have to pay people a certain wage or you won't get anyone applying for the job - there are always people who are prepared to work unskilled jobs for next to nothing because they are too proud to take social services, or they are desperate for "work experience".
People will be treated like items on a balance sheet as long as we embrace the misguided policies of globalization, free trade and economic rationalism - which are the policies of both the Coalition and Labor.
Only One Nation has policies that put people first. Only One Nation wants to pass to the next generation not poverty, .but the long standing principle of a fair day's pay for a fair day's work.

Professor Andrew Fraser Will Speak at One Nation Forum in Albury
October 28th
Professor Andrew Fraser, who was forced out of his job at Macquarie University in Sydney after writing a letter in a local newspaper relating to multiculturalism and immigration, will be one of the speakers at a One Nation forum to be held in Albury on Saturday, October 28th, at the Albury Sailors, Soldiers & Airmen Club, 570-582 Olive St.
The forum is being organised jointly by One Nation (NSW Division) and One Nation Victoria.
Professor Fraser will enunciate his solution to the current problems Australia is facing relating to immigration and multiculturalism.
In addition James Neary, well-known local farmer, will speak on water rights and the perilous situation farmers are in in that regard.
Kevin Mitchell of the Singleton (NSW) branch of One Nation will speak on fuel prices, ethanol and related issues.
There will be other One Nation speakers on globalization, free trade, the so-called "Cronulla riots" and subsequent revenge attacks and the impact of the Government's new Industrial Relations laws.
Starting time will be 10.30am and it is anticipated the forum will go for about three hours.
Last month was the tenth anniversary of Pauline Hanson's maiden speech in Parliament.
No-one has forgotten the furore she raised and the backlash she got, even though the majority of Australians agreed with what she said. One Nation Says No To Free Trade in Blood Products
Under the US Free Trade Agreement, the Commonwealth Government is obliged to recommend to the States and Territories that Commonwealth Serum Laboratories should face competition from overseas companies for blood plasma processing, "fractionation", when its contract ends in 2009.
This means that because of the ridiculous doctrine of "free" trade, besides cars, food, manufactures, garments and everything else we now import, though we are quite capable of making it here, we will have to import blood products processed in, or even sourced from - who knows where?
According to ABC Radio's PM program of 14th July the Medical Journal of Australia has published research saying this could lead to a greater risk of contamination.
In Australia we have rigorous screening of donors, and they give their blood voluntarily. Having blood products sent overseas for processing could mean they get contaminated with plasma from donors who have been paid to give it and were less rigorously tested.
We all know unilateral free trade is economic insanity, but who would have thought our Government would even consider extending it to the most basic unit of life?
How would you feel lying on a operating table, about to be anaesthetised and cut open, and knowing you were going to be given blood products that were processed on the other side of the world because it was cheaper?
It is to be hoped that media exposure will put an end to this lunacy.

One Nation would have passed the Government's Immigration Law Changes if it held the balance of power in the Senate.

One Nation Stirs Up the Issues
The spirited question time that followed each speaker at the One Nation forum held in Griffith on Saturday 15th July was proof of the interest generated among the local people who attended. They were keen to find out where their country is going and wanted some answers on current issues which they haven't been getting from the other political parties.
Local businessman John Ward urged farmers and other businesses to unite to help each other, starting by "buying local" and "supporting local" and to combine to fight the centralised buying power of Coles and Woolworths.
Jeanine McCrae, former sheep farmer, now campaigner against the injustices meted out to farmers by the banks and governments, demonstrated the family and individual and farmers' rights are being subordinated to the power of corporations and the state. The concentration of more power in the hands of the Federal Government at the expense of the State Governments and selling our water supply to multinational companies are all part of this. She said Governments and banks want to keep us in debt because they know people in debt work harder.
She also touched on the "UN Rights of the Child" and demonstrated how parents are losing the right to rear their children according to Christian principles because ungodly humanism and globalism were the new "religions" of the UN and the Fabians in the Labor Party.
Narrabri Councillor and former Narrabri Mayor Bevan O'Regan told farmers to fight the treasonous efforts by the Government to take away their water rights as the right to own the water on your land goes with the Fee Simple
Title and is just as much a basic right as the right to the vegetation, the soil and the air above.
One Nation (NSW Division) Policy Co-ordinator Andrew Webber gave an comprehensive outline of all One Nation policy areas and demonstrated there is not a facet of current issues where One Nation does not have an answer.
Professor Drew Fraser, formerly of Macquarie University, who has already spoken at many One Nation branch meetings in Sydney, said we are being ruled now by an elite in government, the public service, media, business and academia who have no identity with the traditions and heritage of the Australian people. The people of NSW can draw their own conclusions.
Though, with such a high level of illegal gun and knife ownership among the middle eastern community you can't blame the police. Who wants to getstabbed or shot?
Then there is their other weapon, the mobile phone. If police pull over a carload of middle eastern youths sure as eggs they'll get on their mobiles and in three minutes the police will have ten carloads to deal with.
It has reached the stage that people who are victims of property crime perpetrated by middle eastern people are often advised by the police not take it any further or they might risk retaliation.

Public Library Refuses to Stock Anti-Globalization Book
This letter was sent by a One Nation member to a local paper on 12th June 2006.
"Late last year I visited the Great Lakes Library, Forster with the intention to donate two books I felt to be of interest to the public.
The abridged "22 Steps to Global Tyranny" by Graham Strachan, ISBN 0-646-37459-1, is a small book suitable for research and discussion, based on Graham Strachan's more in depth book "Globalisation", ISBN 0-6456-36113-9. Graham Strachan has written a number of books, is a barrister and holds a Batchelor of Science Degree as well as Law. He has no political association but is a political researcher. As Globalisation is a media topic and is also discussed in senior school curriculum, I thought the shortened "22 Steps" to be of public interest.
The second book "Deadly Deception at Port Arthur" by Joe Vialls, ISBN 0-646-38174-1, another informative and non political book by Joe Vialls, an experienced researcher and former British Service Officer, now deceased, would also be of interest for public reading.
My offer to "donate" was refused by the Library Services Manager, the reason given I quote as follows "The authenticity of the information contained in both publications is open to debate (authenticity is one of the library's key selection criteria and is embedded in the Library's Collection Development Strategy). The fact that no other public library in NSW appears to hold copies of these titles would indicate that other libraries share a similar opinion. There is an additional concern that the books may be associated with political parties. This is particularly the case with Graham Strachan's book, which has been endorsed by ....... One Nation ...... The Library does not knowingly hold material that could be viewed as strongly supportive of the opinions of a political party."
Please now allow me to make a few comments from the other side of the fence. By what authority has anyone to decide what the public can or cannot read?
Surely the public should be able to read and decide for themselves the authenticity of a publication carrying International Standard Book Numbers for library usage.
If these books appear to be controversial, please note many biographies and autobiographies and much research material is subject to controversy, discussion and aimed to be thought provoking. The Latham Diaries, for instance, a fine example.

As for The Nationals, they have been selling out The Bush out for years. Professor Andrew Fraser, who was forced out of his job at Macquarie University in Sydney after writing a letter in a local newspaper relating to multiculturalism and immigration, will be one of the speakers at a One Nation forum to be held in Albury on Saturday, October 28th, at the Albury Sailors, Soldiers & Airmen Club, 570-582 Olive St.

Kevin Mitchell of the Singleton (NSW) branch of One Nation will speak on fuel prices, ethanol and related issues.
There will be other One Nation speakers on globalization, free trade, the so-called "Cronulla riots" and subsequent revenge attacks and the impact of the Government's new Industrial Relations laws.
Starting time will be 10.30am and it is anticipated the forum will go for about three hours.
Last month was the tenth anniversary of Pauline Hanson's maiden speech in Parliament.
No-one has forgotten the furore she raised and the backlash she got, even though the majority of Australians agreed with what she said. Now it is commonplace for commentators to say "John Howard took most of her policies". This is an exaggeration, but it shows the impact One Nation has had on peoples' way of thinking. The truth is, there is still much work to be done to re-claim our country. "Multiculturalism" means Miss America pagents have to be open to all races, but...blacks get to have their "Miss Black America" as well. NOBODY wants multiculturalism, not even its most ardent proponents; they are the ones who always wind up supporting their own type of apartheid and defending it until death. So, we bring in all the black kids to school for multiculturalism day and they can show off their Zulu spear or whatever they bought at the local afrocentrist store, a symbol of black "power" and conquest. Then the little white boy comes in with his cermonial SS sword and he's expelled and his parents are forced to apologize in some media show trial. We have to have some kind of "holocaust" day, but the the little white boy wants to have a day remembering the genocide at Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne...and he's expelled and another show trial. So he learns his lesson about diversity and comes back next week and this time the blonde haired, blue eyed boy shows up for multiculturalism day in a dashikee and a Malcolm X hat with his own Zulu spear and everybody applauds how progressive he is. And then a few weeks later he's "chillin'" with the "homies" on the street as part of his goal to "integrate", and gets his head blown off by a black person. Then everybody starts weeping about the suffering of the black murderer who was forced into this pointless killing by a system that doesn't respect his negritude, and the media drags out their previous show trials to say "Well, see, the white kid was a Nazi, so he deserved it." Twenty years later they establish a blacks-only scholarship fund in the name of the murderer who has since joined some obscure off-shoot of the Farrakhan movement and changed his name to "Mother Sha Boo Boo", Spike Lee makes a movie immortalizing him and his struggle against "the Man", and the little white boy lies molderin' in his grave while his baby brother is forced to watch "Stick it to Whitie! The Mother Sha Boo Boo Saga" every year for black history month until he graduates.

We know now that some slaveholders held multiple slaves, we also know now that of the 261,988 free blacks over 28% held slaves, that would be over 68,000 slaveholders.
We also know now that the jews were large slaveholders, 75% of jews owning black slaves. That would mean they had over 150,000 slaveholders (based on a jewish population estimated at 200,000 in 1860).
This means that between the blacks and jews they accounted for 218,000 slaveholders out of a total of 385,000 slave owners.
In fact this means that fewer than 150,000 whites out of a population of 27,000,000 owned slaves, or around 0.5% compared with 75% of jews and 28% of blacks.
Shocked?
Not only were whites not the greatest slave holders per capita, in fact we were not even the majority of slaveholders, these were non-whites.

It is a fact that while there were some instances of slave abuse, most slaves regarded their masters similarly. I believe that this is a historical point of fact that will reveal itself eventually as the accepted alternative is simply too fictitious to stand indefinitely.
It is also a fact that black slaveowners in many instances were much harder on their slaves than white slaveowners; a subtlety in history that may come to public light if society will ever recognize that black people in fact were slaveowners.
I would encourage everyone to get a copy of "The South Was Right!) if they have not done so already. It demonstrates the point here among other things and is a very easy read. Here's some examples of slave sentiment from the Works Projects Administration's journals interviewing ex-slaves during the late 30's -a project hidden under the rug after it was discovered that the majority of slaves felt this way:

Slavery is a bad, dirty thing that only happened to black people in America before the Civil War.
Smart Fact:
Black slavery in America was pretty bad, kids, but it wasn't anything special. Throughout history, every color of the rainbow has owned slaves and been enslaved.
The dictionary tells us that the root word of "slave" is "Slav," because Slavic peoples-who are REALLY pale and white- were the primary slave population throughout the Middle Ages.
And though your teachers will never tell you this, there have been long stretches of history where Africans have owned white people as slaves!
How do you like THEM apples? The [racially white] empire of Carthage transported white slaves to Africa. The [black / Arab] African Moors ruled Spain for 500 years and sent white Christian slaves to [white / Arab] Egypt [where the white slaves, primarily from the Caucasus, eventually through a coup and seized control of the government]. And poor, defenseless white kids-just like you!-were kidnapped by Muslims during the Children's Crusade and sold into Egyptian slavery.

White European Christians were solely responsible for the African slave trade.
Smart Fact:
No, kids-the blacks, Arabs, and Jews were involved, too.
• BLACKS: The president of an African country called Benin recently apologized to American blacks for his country's role in the slave trade.
Slavery was common throughout Africa, with entire tribes becoming enslaved after losing battles. Tribal chieftains often sold their defeated foes to white slave-traders.
In the late 1700s, a freed black American slave named Ottobah Cugoano wrote, "I was first kidnapped and betrayed by my own complexion, who were the first cause of my exile and slavery."
• ARABS: The word "Abed" means "slave" in Arabic. It also means "black."
The "Holy Land" of the Middle East has hosted far more African slaves than North America ever did.
• JEWS: The oldest synagogue in America was built by Aaron Lopez, a Jewish slave trader. Jewish writers such as Cecil Roth, Wilfred Samuels, Seymour B. Liebman, and Moshe Kahan acknowledge that Jews were involved in all levels of the African slave trade.
In fact, children, white Christians were the first group to make a
concerted effort to ABOLISH slavery.

Dumb Myth: Most whites owned slaves, so every white person shares guilt for American slavery.
Smart Fact: Blacks were never close to a majority in America [though they were, and are, a majority in some parts of the South], so it's mathematically impossible for most whites to have owned black slaves. At the peak of black slavery in the South, only 6 percent of Southern whites owned slaves. If you include the white people in the North, it means that only 1.4 percent of white Americans owned black slaves at the HEIGHT of slavery.

Smart Fact: An estimated 3,000 blacks owned a total of 20,000 black slaves in the year 1860. One study concluded that 28 percent of free blacks owned slaves, which is a far higher percentage than that of free whites who owned slaves.

It's possible that more whites came to America against their will than blacks.

Smart Fact: American blacks enjoy the highest standard of living of any black population on earth. Their average per capita income is TWENTY to FIFTY times higher than in any of the African countries from where they were displaced. It's [not] true that part of America's wealth was built on black slavery; it is also true that American blacks are enjoying the fruits of that wealth. You, fair child, whether you were born black or white, weren't born in debt to anyone. You were born free. Don't let the bad people take it away from you.

Dumb Myth: The Civil War was fought to end slavery.
Smart Fact: When General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant, it had been nearly 20 years since Lee owned slaves-he freed his slaves in the late 1840s. In 1856, five years before the Civil War started, he wrote that slavery was "a moral and political evil." On the other hand, General Grant STILL owned slaves at the end of the Civil War, because Abe Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation cleverly outlawed slavery only in the South. Grant had stated that he would refuse to fight if he thought the war had anything to do with slavery. And hey, kids, even if it WAS fought to end slavery, how often do you see the descendants of slaves thanking the 600,000 or so white soldiers who died in the fight to free them?

Smart Fact: The US government estimates that 50,000 humans are brought into this country every year for the purpose of forced labor. Various agencies estimate that there are anywhere from 27 to 200 million humans currently enslaved worldwide. (Compare this to only four and a half million slaves at American slavery's peak.) Most of these slaves live in South Asia, Africa, and South America. Their labor comes far cheaper and is much more profitable than black American slavery was. Citing the official US Census of 1830, there were 3,775 free blacks who owned 12,740 black slaves.
Furthermore, the story outlines the history of slavery here, and the first slave owner, the Father of American slavery, was Mr Anthony Johnson, of Northampton, Virginia.

One of those responsible for Palm Island was the Reverend Ernest Gribble. He had earlier been in Western Australia and was the missionary who reported the story of the Forrest River "massacre" in the Kimberley district in 1926.
As the Perth journalist, Rod Moran, has shown in his 1999 book Massacre Myth, Gribble was an emotionally disturbed man who fabricated most of the evidence on which the claims of a massacre were made. But Gribble is another of the heroes of Reynolds' book, This Whispering in Our Hearts.

No Slander in Exposing Cultural Brutality
Another critic, the Tasmanian academic Shayne Breen, who labels Fabrication a "character assassination", nonetheless admits that Aboriginal women were traded to whites, as I recorded.
"There is some evidence that Aboriginal men, especially along the northern and south-eastern coastlines, used women as trading commodities,"
Breen writes. "Some of this trading was culturally sanctioned, some of it was not. Sometimes women willingly participated, sometimes they did not."
Aboriginal people are made from the same crooked timber as the rest of us. It is no slander to identify cultural practices they should leave behind.
Perpetuating a romantic view of hunter-gatherer society, which historically was just as bloody and brutish in Australia as on every other continent, does not serve reconciliation, which must eventually mean some kind of integration into modern, mainstream life.
The fabrication of history serves the interests of no one, except those white and black political and academic activists who have lived off its misrepresentations for far too long.

Error nullius
To achieve reconciliation we don’t need history books - constant refrains of past wrongs. Reconciliation is not possible between us and the people of 1788 but it may be touched by Australians alive in 2003.
We may never be able to take politics out of history, but we can certainly take historians out of the courtrooms.
In the beginning, they say, was terra nullius - it wasn’t. And reconciliation is too important to be erected on such a shoddy foundation.
Mistakes in universities have effects in the real world.
Academics have shouldered a fashionable burden of guilt, but it’s time to put it down. Misled by one phrase, we imagine we know what happened at settlement when we don’t, and those we should be able to rely on are useless guides.
Reconciliation needs less confrontation and more goodwill: a history written in terms of goodies and baddies cannot be the basis for satisfying political aspirations of the 21st century.

White Australia and Sixties-generation historians
In the entire period from 1803 when the colonists first arrived in Tasmania, to 1834 when all but one family of Aborigines had been removed to Flinders Island, my calculation is that the British were responsible for killing only 121 of the original inhabitants, mostly in self defence or in hot pursuit of Aborigines who had just assaulted white households. In these incidents, the Aborigines killed 187 colonists.
In all of Europe's colonial encounters with the New Worlds of the Americas and the Pacific, the colony of Van Diemen's Land was probably the site where the least indigenous blood of all was deliberately shed.
Why, then, have the historians of Tasmania told this story about genocide, frontier warfare and widespread bloodshed. I suggest several of the reasons in my book: to make Australian history, which would otherwise be dull and uneventful, seem more dramatic than it really was; to assume the moral high ground and flatter their own vanity as defenders of the Aborigines; in some cases to pursue a traditional Marxist agenda or to indulge in interest group politics of gender, race and class.
In contrast, the proper role of the historian is to try to stand above politics, difficult though this always will be.
Historians should assume a public responsibility to report their evidence fully and accurately, to cite their sources honestly, and to adopt as objective a stand as possible.
To pretend that acceptable interpretations can be drawn from false or non-existent or deceptively selective evidence is to abandon the pursuit of historical truth altogether.

We know now that some slaveholders held multiple slaves, we also know now that of the 261,988 free blacks over 28% held slaves, that would be over 68,000 slaveholders.
We also know now that the jews were large slaveholders, 75% of jews owning black slaves. That would mean they had over 150,000 slaveholders (based on a jewish population estimated at 200,000 in 1860).
This means that between the blacks and jews they accounted for 218,000 slaveholders out of a total of 385,000 slave owners.
In fact this means that fewer than 150,000 whites out of a population of 27,000,000 owned slaves, or around 0.5% compared with 75% of jews and 28% of blacks.
Shocked?
Not only were whites not the greatest slave holders per capita, in fact we were not even the majority of slaveholders, these were non-whites.
So remind me again why we're meant to feel guilty?

It is a fact that while there were some instances of slave abuse, most slaves regarded their masters similarly. I believe that this is a historical point of fact that will reveal itself eventually as the accepted alternative is simply too fictitious to stand indefinitely.
It is also a fact that black slaveowners in many instances were much harder on their slaves than white slaveowners; a subtlety in history that may come to public light if society will ever recognize that black people in fact were slaveowners.
I would encourage everyone to get a copy of "The South Was Right!) if they have not done so already. It demonstrates the point here among other things and is a very easy read. Here's some examples of slave sentiment from the Works Projects Administration's journals interviewing ex-slaves during the late 30's -a project hidden under the rug after it was discovered that the majority of slaves felt this way:

But chances are that you're white-at least for the next generation or two, those are the chances-so I've collected a bunch of DUMB MYTHS and SMART FACTS about slavery that you can use to clown your teachers and everyone else at school!

Dumb Myth:
Slavery is a bad, dirty thing that only happened to black people in America before the Civil War.
Smart Fact:
Black slavery in America was pretty bad, kids, but it wasn't anything special. Throughout history, every color of the rainbow has owned slaves and been enslaved.
The dictionary tells us that the root word of "slave" is "Slav," because Slavic peoples-who are REALLY pale and white- were the primary slave population throughout the Middle Ages.
And though your teachers will never tell you this, there have been long stretches of history where Africans have owned white people as slaves!
How do you like THEM apples? The [racially white] empire of Carthage transported white slaves to Africa. The [black / Arab] African Moors ruled Spain for 500 years and sent white Christian slaves to [white / Arab] Egypt [where the white slaves, primarily from the Caucasus, eventually through a coup and seized control of the government]. And poor, defenseless white kids-just like you!-were kidnapped by Muslims during the Children's Crusade and sold into Egyptian slavery.

Dumb Myth:
White European Christians were solely responsible for the African slave trade.
Smart Fact:
No, kids-the blacks, Arabs, and Jews were involved, too.
• BLACKS: The president of an African country called Benin recently apologized to American blacks for his country's role in the slave trade.
Slavery was common throughout Africa, with entire tribes becoming enslaved after losing battles. Tribal chieftains often sold their defeated foes to white slave-traders.
In the late 1700s, a freed black American slave named Ottobah Cugoano wrote, "I was first kidnapped and betrayed by my own complexion, who were the first cause of my exile and slavery."
• ARABS: The word "Abed" means "slave" in Arabic. It also means "black."
The "Holy Land" of the Middle East has hosted far more African slaves than North America ever did.
• JEWS: The oldest synagogue in America was built by Aaron Lopez, a Jewish slave trader. Jewish writers such as Cecil Roth, Wilfred Samuels, Seymour B. Liebman, and Moshe Kahan acknowledge that Jews were involved in all levels of the African slave trade.
In fact, children, white Christians were the first group to make a
concerted effort to ABOLISH slavery.

Dumb Myth: America's a uniquely evil place because it imported all those slaves from Africa.
Smart Fact: Of the 10 to 15 million Africans who were transplanted to the New World, no more than 6 percent-around 400,000-went to the Northern Hemisphere. Almost all of them went to South America, but you don't see your teachers giving Brazil a hard time, do you?

Dumb Myth: Most whites owned slaves, so every white person shares guilt for American slavery.
Smart Fact: Blacks were never close to a majority in America [though they were, and are, a majority in some parts of the South], so it's mathematically impossible for most whites to have owned black slaves. At the peak of black slavery in the South, only 6 percent of Southern whites owned slaves. If you include the white people in the North, it means that only 1.4 percent of white Americans owned black slaves at the HEIGHT of slavery.

Dumb Myth: Blacks never owned slaves in America.
Smart Fact: An estimated 3,000 blacks owned a total of 20,000 black slaves in the year 1860. One study concluded that 28 percent of free blacks owned slaves, which is a far higher percentage than that of free whites who owned slaves.

Dumb Myth: There were no white slaves in America.
Smart Fact: Although your textbooks are silent about it, most historians agree that two-thirds of ALL whites came to the colonies in some form of bondage. Legal papers on both sides of the ocean referred to them as "slaves." White slaves outnumbered black slaves in America throughout the 1600s.

Dumb Myth: White "Indentured Servants" chose to come here and weren't treated as badly as black slaves.
Smart Fact: Hundreds of thousands of white slaves were kidnapped and brought to America; their middle-passage death rates were comparable to those of black slaves; they were sold at auction and traded for livestock, they were routinely beaten-sometimes to death-and an estimated one half of them died before gaining freedom. It's possible that more whites came to America against their will than blacks.
Historians from both ends of the political spectrum say that white
slaves were treated worse than black slaves [because they weren't
property, and their children weren't property, and thus there was no
incentive to maintain them longer than the term of their servitude.]

Dumb Myth: England only sent convict laborers to Australia.
Smart Fact: England only started sending convicts to Australia in 1776- when the American Revolution made it impossible for them to continue sending their convicts here. By 1776, more than 50,000 convict slave laborers had already been sent to America. That's a lotta criminals, kids!

Dumb Myth: White people need to pay financial reparations to black people.
Smart Fact: American blacks enjoy the highest standard of living of any black population on earth. Their average per capita income is TWENTY to FIFTY times higher than in any of the African countries from where they were displaced. It's [not] true that part of America's wealth was built on black slavery; it is also true that American blacks are enjoying the fruits of that wealth. You, fair child, whether you were born black or white, weren't born in debt to anyone. You were born free. Don't let the bad people take it away from you.

Dumb Myth: The Civil War was fought to end slavery.
Smart Fact: When General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant, it had been nearly 20 years since Lee owned slaves-he freed his slaves in the late 1840s. In 1856, five years before the Civil War started, he wrote that slavery was "a moral and political evil." On the other hand, General Grant STILL owned slaves at the end of the Civil War, because Abe Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation cleverly outlawed slavery only in the South. Grant had stated that he would refuse to fight if he thought the war had anything to do with slavery. And hey, kids, even if it WAS fought to end slavery, how often do you see the descendants of slaves thanking the 600,000 or so white soldiers who died in the fight to free them?

Dumb Myth: Slavery ended with the Civil War.
Smart Fact: The US government estimates that 50,000 humans are brought into this country every year for the purpose of forced labor. Various agencies estimate that there are anywhere from 27 to 200 million humans currently enslaved worldwide. (Compare this to only four and a half million slaves at American slavery's peak.) Most of these slaves live in South Asia, Africa, and South America. Their labor comes far cheaper and is much more profitable than black American slavery was. In many horrifying cases, poverty-stricken women sell their vaginas on the black market and become lifelong sex slaves to fat, stinky men for as little as $1,500. In today's dollars, a black slave in the American South cost approximately $40,000.
Remember, kids-the enemy's all around you, and he comes in all colors.
Slavery exists in so many ways, children. Open your eyes before they shackle your asses.

One of those responsible for Palm Island was the Reverend Ernest Gribble. He had earlier been in Western Australia and was the missionary who reported the story of the Forrest River "massacre" in the Kimberley district in 1926.
As the Perth journalist, Rod Moran, has shown in his 1999 book Massacre Myth, Gribble was an emotionally disturbed man who fabricated most of the evidence on which the claims of a massacre were made. But Gribble is another of the heroes of Reynolds' book, This Whispering in Our Hearts.

No Slander in Exposing Cultural Brutality
Another critic, the Tasmanian academic Shayne Breen, who labels Fabrication a "character assassination", nonetheless admits that Aboriginal women were traded to whites, as I recorded.
"There is some evidence that Aboriginal men, especially along the northern and south-eastern coastlines, used women as trading commodities,"
Breen writes. "Some of this trading was culturally sanctioned, some of it was not. Sometimes women willingly participated, sometimes they did not."
Aboriginal people are made from the same crooked timber as the rest of us. It is no slander to identify cultural practices they should leave behind.
Perpetuating a romantic view of hunter-gatherer society, which historically was just as bloody and brutish in Australia as on every other continent, does not serve reconciliation, which must eventually mean some kind of integration into modern, mainstream life.
The fabrication of history serves the interests of no one, except those white and black political and academic activists who have lived off its misrepresentations for far too long.

Error nullius
To achieve reconciliation we don’t need history books - constant refrains of past wrongs. Reconciliation is not possible between us and the people of 1788 but it may be touched by Australians alive in 2003.
We may never be able to take politics out of history, but we can certainly take historians out of the courtrooms.
In the beginning, they say, was terra nullius - it wasn’t. And reconciliation is too important to be erected on such a shoddy foundation.
Mistakes in universities have effects in the real world.
Academics have shouldered a fashionable burden of guilt, but it’s time to put it down. Misled by one phrase, we imagine we know what happened at settlement when we don’t, and those we should be able to rely on are useless guides.
Reconciliation needs less confrontation and more goodwill: a history written in terms of goodies and baddies cannot be the basis for satisfying political aspirations of the 21st century.

White Australia and Sixties-generation historians
In the entire period from 1803 when the colonists first arrived in Tasmania, to 1834 when all but one family of Aborigines had been removed to Flinders Island, my calculation is that the British were responsible for killing only 121 of the original inhabitants, mostly in self defence or in hot pursuit of Aborigines who had just assaulted white households. In these incidents, the Aborigines killed 187 colonists.
In all of Europe's colonial encounters with the New Worlds of the Americas and the Pacific, the colony of Van Diemen's Land was probably the site where the least indigenous blood of all was deliberately shed.
Why, then, have the historians of Tasmania told this story about genocide, frontier warfare and widespread bloodshed. I suggest several of the reasons in my book: to make Australian history, which would otherwise be dull and uneventful, seem more dramatic than it really was; to assume the moral high ground and flatter their own vanity as defenders of the Aborigines; in some cases to pursue a traditional Marxist agenda or to indulge in interest group politics of gender, race and class.
In contrast, the proper role of the historian is to try to stand above politics, difficult though this always will be.
Historians should assume a public responsibility to report their evidence fully and accurately, to cite their sources honestly, and to adopt as objective a stand as possible.
To pretend that acceptable interpretations can be drawn from false or non-existent or deceptively selective evidence is to abandon the pursuit of historical truth altogether.
